Our Founder
Working in the mental health and suicide prevention space has afforded me the privilege of connecting with some amazing people, many of whom experience various mental health issues. I have worked closely with people who have their own mental health struggles or who support family members or friends with mental health issues. I have worked with people on the brink of suicide and with people who combat suicidal thoughts on a daily basis. I have worked with many who are bereaved by suicide and families and friends who have been left with the terrible weight of losing someone to suicide. I have worked with many people who strive to be the best humans that they can be.
I have studied suicide prevention, counselling and behavioural science at university and I have done numerous courses and workshops on mental health awareness, suicide prevention, depression, anxiety, trauma, domestic and family violence, stress management and mindfulness.
My experience has taught me that people need to talk about their mental health issues. Without communication people tend to slide down the slope of poor mental health outcomes.
Unfortunately, I have found that people are generally not talking about mental health and not talking about suicide. Even with all the courses available people are still not communicating about mental health. People still do not know how to talk mental health.
This is why I developed the workshops, which can be completed online or face to face.
